Effective June 1, 2013, Ute-Désirée Hagedorn (34) will become the new Managing Director of Meplan GmbH and successor to Andreas Hitzler. The subsidiary of Messe München GmbH and Gesellschaft für Handwerksmessen – GHM has its headquarters at the Messe München trade-fair center and provides an entire range of international services that are related to exhibition-stand construction and consulting for maximum trade-fair success.
Ms. Hagedorn has served as head of Meplan’s System Stand Construction Division since January 2007. Before that, she was Project Manager with a focus on concept development for international trade fairs at Heidelberger fairtrade GmbH & Co. KG. Klaus Dittrich, Chairman and CEO of Messe München and Chairman of the Meplan Shareholders Meeting: “We are pleased that by naming Ms. Hagedorn the new Managing Director, we have selected a competent and experienced manager from within the company. We are convinced that she will continue to help Meplan to develop successfully.”
Ms. Hagedorn succeeds Andreas Hitzler, who has managed the company since 1998. He is leaving the company at his own request as of May 31, 2013 to pursue new opportunities. Klaus Dittrich: “We would like to thank Mr. Hitzler for his outstanding commitment to his work and for the extremely successful expansion of Meplan’s business activities and wish him all the best and the utmost success for his future endeavors.” Under Hitzler’s leadership, Meplan GmbH evolved from a stand-building company for Messe München to a global provider of system-stand and design-stand construction services as well as a comprehensive range of fair-related services. During this period, the number of employees increased 7 to 65.
